Having learned all they felt they could, Kuppies invoked a ritual that made them all appear to be githyanki, hoping it would allow them free reign of the palace.
Exploring their surroundings, they found a room full of regeneration pods and an armory. There was a fair amount of discussion regarding what to do with the 7 seriously wounded Githyanki in the pods. In the end, I believe they were left alone. 3 of the 4 skulls powering the portals were also destroyed, leaving the portal back to the hatchery in questionable condition, fading in and out.
Heading down the corridor, toward the main chamber, an intersection allowed us to use a new piece of technology. With Mike(Rudy), playing remote and connected through maptools, he had his own view of the map. So while everyone else stayed behind, Rudy moved north, scouting the area to make sure nothing was there. He then reported back to everyone else. In my opinion, it was a pretty cool scene to see him describing what he saw, in his own words. Ironically, we couldn't do it if he was in person.
Bypassing the northern dead end, the party moved into the main chamber. A huge double staircase and balcony dominated the far end of the chamber. Not wanting to look conspicuous, they quickly moved north, finding the statue of Gith, that would allow them to teleport to the city below, should they need a second means of escape.
With that nugget of knowledge, they returned to the main chamber and easily found the secret door the guard described to them. With the stench of death and rot almost overwhelming them, they descended the stairs to the torture chamber.
