Lothar the Old

Meeting with Lothar, he was initially surprised to see that Leenia was not with the group. He then seemed to realize something and offered to help, for a price.

Asking how much, the party was surprised, it was not a cost in GP, but a task. He required them to retrieve the skull of Otto, one of the last great wizards. Lothar them told the heroes that Keraptis had captured Otto at the end of the last war and had been torturing him for hundreds of years.

Realizing they had no other options, they accepted the bargain. Lothar told them to return, after rescuing Leenia, and he would locate Otto for them. He then insisted on one last thing from the party, having no choice, they once again agreed. He anointed them with a terribly smelling ointment, explaining that if they did not complete the task they agreed too, in one year's time, they would develop a rotting sickness that would kill them in 30 days.

He then informed them Leenia was being held in the remains of the largest temple that had been dedicated to Pelor in the city of Moil, before Orcus cast it into the Shadowfell.

I will add, for the record, I had fun playing Lothar and thought the stuttering I tried to use while role playing him was very effective to make him memorable.
