Racing Against Time

With Kuppies doing his best to seal the door and most of the guards inside, the party raced upstairs. Waiting for them at the top was a guard station that was prepared to ambush them. Two guards, used a battering ram to smash into Ekeraath, knocking him prone and down the stairs. Fortunately for him, Kuppies managed to catch him so that he didn't fall all the way down the stairs. The guards posed little challenge for the party as they were quickly dispatched.

Searching the cells to the east, the party found the body of an old guard stuffed in an armoire. Hidden on the body was the other badge they needed to gain access to the basement. The western set of cells held nothing of value. Heading through another break in the wall, the heroes entered a section of the prison holding larger cells. As they peaked inside one, a large lizard like creature belched fire at them. With that signal, a red dragon crashed through it's cell wall and attacked. Realizing they had limited time, the heroes opted to race through the area and up the stairs to the top floor of the prison.
