Complications

Sneaking around the top level of the prison, the party faced a brief encounter before finally finding Rard. Freeing him was easy until he insisted they free the prisoner in the cell next to him. Looking in, the resident of the cell looked like he had fallen off a tower and landed on his face. The party's most hated enemy, leader of the Cult of the Infernal Fang, Damakos, occupied the cell next to the man they sought to free.

Rard informed the heroes that Damakos was under his protection and he would not leave without him. For the first time, the party was split. Leenia and Kuppies insisted he be saved while Rudy and Alexander were passionate about him being slain. While Ekeraath agreed with Rudy and Alexander, he was willing to wait till they had escaped to make the ultimate decision. With Rard unwilling to bend, Ekeraath took it upon himself to knock the leader unconscious and begin to carry him out of the prison. A short distance from the stairs, as the rest of the party was still behind arguing about Damakos, Ekeraath was attacked.

Running down the hall to his aid, everyone made it in time to assist Ekeraath. Even Damakos assisted with an Eldritch Blast and another spell that healed Ekeraath.

The battle over what to do with Damakos continued as they attempted to continue their escape.
