Simon's Personal Guard

Continuing their ascent, the party once again found itself in a throne room. Several rows of pews lined the room, facing the throne. Tapestries lined the outside of the pews, creating several sections of the room that could not be seen...This might be the first time I put legitimate cover in.

Four direguards were stationed near the throne. Racing forward, Rudy quickly engaged the four of them. Unfortunately, he was almost immediately outflanked and in danger. The rest of the party responded well and joined the fray. Much to everyone's surprise, additional direguards were behind the tapestries and began firing on the party.

As combat pressed on, the hidden direguards continued to pelt the party from behind the tapestries. Kuppies and Mara finally decided to address the situation and each went to opposite sides and engaged the hidden danger.

With the direguards finally slain, the players realized they were the remains of the characters they had roleplayed at the beginning of the session.
