Dara's Story

With a night of rest behind them, the heroes set out early the next morning, following Dara.

Once the party was several hours away from the camp, Dara stoped and asked to speak with them.

"What Adran has told you is true, however, his point of view has shifted from what it used to be, peaceful.

My patrol returned last week from an extended mission outside of the forest, we had heard rumors that the light was slowly returning to the land. Several of our clerics had received messages that the Citadel of the Seasons had been freed and an assault was planned on the mainland. We witnessed the freeing of Pontylvar and while unseen, did our best to assist. We immediately returned with the good news.
Unfortunately, our good news fell on deaf ears as the whole of the elven nation was mobilizing for war. They would not and will not listen to reason. After a few days back, most of my patrol had succumb to this blood fever and equally relished the idea of war with the Dragonborn. In my heart, I know this cannot come to pass, and as such, I will do whatever it takes to stop it.

As it is now, I believe I have pulled the wool over Adran’s eyes. As much as it pains me to forsake his leadership, he is no longer the king he had been. I do not know what has changed, but I beg you to please investigate and see if you can find the cause.

If you choose to leave, I understand and will give you directions to exit the forest. If you wish to meet with the dragonborn, as Adran’s emissaries, or not, I can give you directions to them as well. So what say you, will you help me?"

Being Heroes, the party opted to attempt to broker a peace between the two factions and headed for the Dragonborn settlement.
