Entering the Castle

With the guards outside of the castle dealt with, the party headed inside. Coming in the front door, they entered a large welcoming room with a fountain in the center. Much to everyone's surprise, the fountain was still working.

Patrolling the balcony above was 2 Blazing Skeletons. On the ground, one skeleton, with 4 arms and a scimitar in each hand was flanked by a headless skeleton that appeared to be wielding it's spine, with skull attached, as a flail. Quickly entering combat, the heroes focused much of their fire on the 4 armed skeletal tomb guardian. In addition, Leenia's turn undead sent the Spine Creep Skeleton for a whirl it would not recover from.

Quick work was made of the guardian and the party split their attacks at this point, with the melee fighters going after the Spine Creep Skeleton, and the ranged members after the Blazing ones on the balcony. With all of the melee combatants focused on it, the Spine Creep Skeleton was quickly overpowered and subdued.

This left just the blazing skeletons who did not last much longer.

Exploring the castle, the party found a necrotic lab, empty barracks, infirmary, and was able to determine who/what was in the throne room.

Finally, someone braved a sip from the fountain and found it to be refreshing to the point it restored lost hit points and a healing surge.
