Battle in the Throne Room

Surveying the throne room, 4 putrescent, exploding zombie minions were wandering about, under the supervision of 2 3 headed skeletons. Sitting unamused on one of the thrones was a drow. Realizing they had the tactical advantage, the party formulated a plan. Mara would enter through the balcony from the front room and pepper their enemies with arrows. Ekeraath would come in the front door as a distraction while the rest of the group rushed in from a side entrance.

Without further discussion, they sprang into action. With everyone in position, Ekeraath crashed through the front door demanding the monster's immediate surrender. The Drow responded with 2 words: "Kill him". Needless to say, combat began as everyone else rushed in.

Mara struck early, taking out a zombie before anyone realized it would explode when hit, dealing damage in a large radius. To add insult to injury, the skull lord, restored the minion the next turn, in addition to using a blast of Bone Chilling Fear and another of Withering Flame.

Realizing their tactics needed to be modified, the party made the appropriate changes and went back to work, first focusing on one of the skull lords. After several hits, one of the 3 skulls crumbled away, along with the power it unleashed. With that knowledge, the heroes redoubled their efforts and dispatched the first skull lord.

Turning their attention to the Drow, once again, the focus fire was deadly and much to the satisfaction of Kuppies, Mara, and Leenia, it could not stand up to the full force of the party thrown at it.

With a single skull lord and a handful of minions left, the party was able to use tactics that focused their fire and allowed them to take minimal damage as they shifted around the map.
