At the top of the staircase, the party found themselves facing a corner. Turning around, they saw Damakos at the far corner of the room. Next to him was a globe with 4 swirling colors in it. The floor in front of them had a grid, with 4 different color tiles that matched the colors in the globe.
Rudy, having learned a lesson below opted to use his short bow and not advance onto the tiles. Ekeraath opted to rush across and get as close as possible to Damakos. Not wasting anytime, Damakos used one of his spells and then invoked the globe next to him. The square Ekeraath was on, and all like colored squares, was jolted with 5 points of lightening damage and stunned Ekeraath, who would not fully recover until after combat. To add insult to injury, he was pushed one square further away from his goal.
Now that the floor was better understood, the party took the offensive. Mara and Kuppies stayed off the tiles and pelted Damakos from afar with missiles. Rudy and Alexander advanced to enter melee while Leenia moved to the center of the battle and used her new Battle Standard to aid anyone who needed healing. Once again, Damakos used the globe, this time affecting Leenia and Alexander, who when pushed knocked the standard down. Ekeraath was unable to overcome the stunning blow from the lightening.
Keeping her wits about her, Leenia used the spell she had been saving all night and pulled Damakos out of the corner and into a spot he could be flanked, allowing Rudy and Alexander to do their thing.
After a round of serious pelting, Damakos was able to retreat to a different corner, where he used all his concentration on the globe and lit up 2 colors of tiles.
With almost everyone affected by the tiles, Rudy jumped to the front and inflicted 40 points of damage, killing Damakos, who fell over the edge of the tower, falling 70 feet to become a broken mass of flesh and bones on the ground below.

This fight sucked!!! (for me)
At the end of round 1, "You're stunned. Save ends"
3 rounds later. "Alright I finally made my saving throw!" "You're stunned again, save ends."
Round 4, rinse repeat. Grrr!
I thought it was pretty fun - the variable orb effects made things very interesting. Ekerrath was just very unlucky and kept getting hit with them. Heh.
