The Gate House

Moving from the docks, toward the city gates, the party located a small room with a ladder that led up to the Gate House, the control center for the 3 city gates. In an effort to get someone up there without alerting the guards too much, Rudy climbed the ladder and began a conversation. Not buying the distraction one bit, combat began almost immediately.

Rudy, knowing there was support below, rushed the guard farthest from the door hoping to prevent him from activating the gate control mechanism. Right behind him, the rest of the party stormed the room and engaged the remaining guards.

As designed, this combat was a slug fest. With Rudy keeping the one guard busy, the other 5 party members focused on the other 2 guards. Just to embarrass the rest of the party, Rudy polished his guard off first, dealing a ridiculous amount of damage while taking almost none.

With minimal effort, Kuppies was able to determine how to sabotage the gates and the party moved on to their next task.
