Battle in the Garden

As the party explored the gardens bordering the main worship area, they were attacked. In the garden area dedicated to Fall, the jungle came to life as a Vine Horror and Shambling Mound made their presence known. A quick nature/dungeoneering check proved extremely beneficial as Mara learned lightening heals a Shambling Mound, so she switched her bow back to regular damage.

The Vine Horror began combat using it's vicious vines attack, which damaged and restrained more than half the party. The first few rounds proved a challenge, as the party recovered from that initial attack.

The Vine Horror ended up being less of a threat than the Shambling Mound. As the rest of the party dealt with the Horror, Ekeraath went after the Shambling Mound. Twice during the course of combat, he was hit and enveloped by the mound. Each time taking substantial damage.

Fortunately, after the Horror went down, the party was able to quickly defeat the Mound and rescue Ekeraath from it's clutch. The reward was exceptional, as a set of Hide Armor was recovered that would allow an encounter or at will power, from anyone in the party, to be stored in it and used by the wearer.

Just to clarify - the armor of exploits allows the wearer to store any at will or encounter martial skill. So Alexander won't be shooting magic missiles at anyone anytime soon! :)
