Caverns and Dragons

Retracing their steps, the heroes found themselves entering a massive cavern. A quick history check and someone remembered a story that at some point in the distance past, Acererak had forced a dragon into lichdom, and to become his servant.

Being on their guard, they were not surprised when an undead dragon launched an attack. The array of powers the dragon had was daunting to the party, even after they pushed him into a corner. I'm going to point out at this point, I was hoping for this as it would prevent the party from flanking the dragon, and limit the number of melee combatants.

In the end, the heroes were able to defeat the dragon. Much to their surprise, Acererak himself, flew out of the body of the defeated dragon and took up a spot in the center of the cavern. The party knew they would be in for the fight of their lives. While many of their daily powers were left, they had already used many of their most commonly used powers, including Leenia's turn undead and solar flare.
