Acererak!

With Acererak in sight, the heroes knew they were in for the fight of their lives. In an instant, eight Lich vestiges arose throughout the outside of the cavern and 4 demonic skeletons as close bodyguards to the fiend, Acererak.

Wading in, the heroes quickly discovered the skeletons and vestiges were minions, yet, they arose every time they were slain. Worse yet, their encounter powers recharged. It took the party several rounds to figure this out and they were certainly worse for wear as a result.

However, their most dangerous foe was a tiny skull floating in the center of the room. During the first round, it successfully initiated the most awesome power the heroes had ever faced...the ability to rend their very soul from their body. And Acererak targeted and hit both Leenia and Alexander. Ekeraath also felt the full awe of this power.

The heroes were not without their bag of tricks. Alexander utilized a new power that allowed everyone to use multiple action points during an encounter. Rudy's dice were on fire while Ekeraath's and Kuppies were ice cold.

In a knock down, drag out epic battle, that lasted almost 4 hours, the heroes defeated their greatest threat so far. The spread out battlefield and regenerating minions resulted in the heroes struggling to put together an effective strategy to combat this most evil foe and won on pure grit and force of will.
