Retrieving the Bag of Annihilation

With Ford's body safely floating behind Kuppies on an Tensor's floating disk, the heroes continued their quest to retrieve the Bag of Annihilation from Vlaakith. Descending through the torture chamber, to the level below, they entered Vlaakith's inner sanctum. Here, the Whispers of the Damned became Screams, overwhelming several of the heroes. The horrors they witnessed during their exploration of the area are too disturbing to fully describe, however, they eventually stumbled upon the room that housed the bag.

Leenia stepped forward to grab the bag as several creatures materialized in the room. The melee creatures where quickly engaged, however, the ranged ones had time to target Leenia, who was still out in the open. As combat progressed, Rudy was dazed by a particularly effective attack against him. After shaking that off, he was once again, dazed, but also weakened. One of the guardians, seeing this, used his most powerful ability, that reduced any weakened creature to zero HP on a hit....Rudy's luck finally ran out, as the gaze of the creature quickly snuffed the life out of him. Fortunately for him, Leenia was there, and with a quick prayer to Sehanine, Rudy was restored via an Unexpected Return.

With Rudy back in the mix, the tide once again turned in the favor of the heroes and they defeated their enemies, claiming the Bag as their treasure.

During combat, they had felt the room shift and they could not determine which door would open into the hallway they had entered from. Their first choice was incorrect, resulting in 2 more creatures attacking. They were of little challenge to the party and their next choice resulted in selecting the correct door.
