Unexpected Rewards

Continuing their exploration of the tunnels, the heroes entered another room full of Varis' goons. I expected this battle to push them more than it did, but the heroes were able to dispatch the villains without too much difficulty.

The rewards were great. First, Ekeraath recovered the Bloody Maul of Kord, just in time since Whelm was ready to move on. Several other resistance related potions and Rudy found a pair of gloves. Kuppies and Alexander were unable to identify them, other than knowing they were transmutative.

Rudy, ever fearless, donned the gloves. Before we could even consider trying to remove them, they graphed themselves on to his flesh. Worse yet, his hands mutated into claws. As a result, he now takes a -2 on delicate operations, such as lockpicking. On the up side, they are a weapon that cannot be taken away.

Additionally, there were a couple cloaks and other magic items.
