Torches or Bells?

Delving ever farther into the caves, the heroes found their way blocked by two obstacles. The first passage, was lined with huge bells. The second, with brightly lit torches. Deciding to deal with fire, instead of the idea of an alarm, they headed to the torch lit hallway. The bells would have been thunder damage.

Kuppies, having fire resistance and the ability to Fey step was nominated to traverse the torch lined tunnel. Entering it, he could feel the furnace like heat, but was uninjured. As he continued on and the heat grew, he could resist it no longer and began to suffer the effects. As the damage mounted, he used his fey step and found himself almost free of the heat. Luckily for him, there were no guards on the far side of the tunnel and the rest of the party joined him easily after he invoked an arcane portal.
