Meeting One of the Great Ones

Activating the machine and completing the ritual caused a bubble, similar to the one Varis exited from, to form between the 4 power columns. Stepping into the bubble, the heroes experienced a much more violent teleportation than they were used to, ending in the five of them forming a giant heap of adventurers.

The setting before them was surreal in its appearance. There were 4 pillars similar to the ones that were used to activate the machine. However, they didn’t seem to radiate any energy and did not glow. The land around them was completely dark, except for 2 locations. One, centered on them, another on a small house roughly 200 feet away. There was no obvious source of light. There was no sound save for their breathing and the beating of their hearts.

Efforts to walk to the house failed. If a single person exited the light, he was enveloped in darkness and could no longer see the 2 pools of light.

Kuppies performed an Arcana check and remembered that some planes only require the will of an individual to have that person move. With a mere thought, he arrived at the door to the house. Looking in, he saw an old human man, seated at a desk. On his hand, a ring similar to the one adorning Kuppies finger.

Popping back to the rest of the party, Kuppies explained how to get to the house and everyone made it, without issue. Except for Rudy who ended up on the roof.
