Meeting an old Friend

With Rannos missing, the party opted to follow Chemosh's advice and try to seek out the one who ordered the item from Rannos. Hoping Cassi could help them, they went to the Gatehouse to meet her. They learned the following:

• During her time in the tent city, she and Roduka became friends. You’ll recall Roduka spent a great deal of time in the hospital helping to minister to her brethren.
• Once Roduka became the leader of the Shadar kai, they saw an opportunity to help the Shadar Kai and possibly turn the tide of the battle in the Shadowfell. Cassi began purchasing and funneling weapons to Roduka and other Shadar kai, in an attempt to help them in their desperate battle.
• With the recent shipments, the Shadar Kai have finally been able to break several key stalemates and have begun a slow advance on the center of evil there, the Tower of Acererak!
• You’ll also recall that Rannos took a pretty serious beating for failing Morbius/Leenia in the tent city. He went to the hospital to receive treatment where he met Cassi. While there, the first weapons purchase was arranged and it’s been going on ever since.
• Up until a couple weeks ago, things had been going smoothly. But a new faction showed up and began to throw roadblocks in front of them. It took some research and several agents were lost before finding out who is responsible for this disruption.
• Acererak has become aware of the operation and put one of his most trusted lieutenants in charge of stopping us, Keraptis. I do not believe Keraptis is here.
• In a previous life, I battled Keraptis and know that he is not welcome in this city. He did something to offend the Lady of Pain and since has been immediately attacked when trying to enter here.
• Instead, he dispatched his favored assistant, Quesnef to stop us.
