A river...through mid air!?!?

Delving deeper, the heroes found themselves in a room with a river flowing through it. However, the river was suspended in mid air. Ever the explorers, they made use of the small boats that were in the room and went for a ride. After a minute or two on the river, they saw a light ahead.

Rudy was the first to emerge and was dragged from his raft and deposited on the floor, wrapped in a net. Ekeraath managed to avoid the 2nd net, rode his raft farther into the room, and exited next to another melee combatant. As Alexander neared the exit, a wizard stepped forward and froze the river, stranding Kuppies and Leenia in the tunnel.

For the next couple rounds, things took a bad turn for the heroes. Alexander was stuck in his boat and flanked, so he took a terrible beating, finally falling unconscious. Ekeraath ended up in hand to hand combat with an ex-gladiator, and took a shot below the belt that dazed in. Additionally, 2 archers opened fire on him. Fortunately, Kuppies was able to use his Fey Step and magical boots to exit the tunnel and immediately make an impact but casting a wall of fire that locked down a large portion of the room.

Rudy raced to Alexander's aid and along with Leenia's Healer Sash, stabalized him, and took on the 2 blademasters that had knocked his friend unconscious. As Alexander began to recover, Ekeraath finished off the gladiator and engaged the archers. The wizard fell to a barrel that had caught fire and exploded.

In the end, one of the archer's escaped and the blademaster was captured. He provided little information and the party tied him in a boat and put him in the river, endlessly circling between 2 rooms.
