Having interrogated the attackers from the alley, the party was informed they were hired by Rannos, one of the unofficial leaders of the loosely assembled
thieves guild. He could be found at the Tailless Dragon, a bar.
As the party approached the Tailless Dragon, the stench of stale beer and human waste was almost overwhelming. Kuppies felt right at home. Still they
pressed on and upon entering the tent, quickly located Rannos, sitting at a back table, playing cards. He was flanked by two large bodyguards and it was
obvious there were several others milling about.
Alexander began the conversation fairly aggressively and Rannos was not impressed. While the thugs he had hired were not capable of handling the party, he
was confident the ones he had to protect him in the bar could. Rudy calmed things down by buying a couple rounds and eventually Rannos convinced the party
to play some cards. A couple hands later, with the party's purses feeling much lighter, the party had learned little. However, the continuous rounds Rudy
was buying had Rannos' lips loosening up quite a bit.
They eventually learned:
Rannos was hired by a woman to recruit several thugs. He was not able to see her face.
Rannos believes the woman worked, or visited the hospital, based on the possible sight of a hospital gown.
Rannos says the woman spoke very archaically and with a strange dialect.
