Statues at the Door

Heading up a short hill toward a manor house, the party approached the front door. Noting several statues in the area, they cautiously approached the steps. Once they reached them, a magic mouth appeared on the closest statue and said "You have transgressed onto the estate of the Brame Family. Leave immediately." Note the letters of Brame could be rearranged into Amber.

Two of the statues immediately launched a barrage of arrows at the party, missing everyone. The party quickly went on the offensive, unfortunately, a snare trap captured Mara and then Kuppies, leaving them both hanging upside down under a pair of massive trees.

With combat under way, the archers were dispatched relatively quickly, but not before the heroes learned two of the other statues could leap around the battlefield, without leaving themselves open to opportunity attacks. They proved both annoying and problematic as they were almost impossible to flank.

After several tense rounds, Kuppies and Mara had freed themselves and the Heroes had dispatched the last of the statues. Heading to the front door, they could only dread the horrors they imagined would be inside.
