Return of the Warlord

Opening the door, the party was confronted with the main lab/temple of a necromancer. Their apprehension was put on hold as Simon Amber looked up and said "Welcome, you will make powerful servants when I am done with you. Kill them my servants."

Throwing caution to the wind, Rudy raced in and dealt a massive blow to Simon. With the rest of the party chasing in behind him, several more monsters became visible, included a pair of zombie lashers, a dragon shell, and a pair of blazing skeletons hiding behind some book cases.

Right on Rudy's heels was Leenia, who seemed completely obsessed by the spirit of Morbius. Throwing her holy symbol to the side, she drew force the iron rod containing the fragment of Morbius' soul and used it to channel several necrotic powers the party had never before seen. Her intent being the complete obliteration of Simon Amber.

Hoping to take the skeletons out of combat for awhile, Mara raced over to the bookcases and threw herself against them, knocking them down, on top of the skeletons. In the meantime, Alexander, winning control over his actions, from the sword, performed several actions before finally taking a swing at Simon...and hitting.

As Alexander struck his blow, everything in the room seemed to freeze in time for a second and then the sword shattered. Catapulting Alexander across the room, leaving him prone, stunned, and weaponless on the floor in front of a lasher zombie. The rest of the party managed to maintain their footing and continue the battle.

Seeing the plight of Alexander, for the second time in mere minutes, Kuppies phased stepped, and placed himself between the warlord and undead. Apparating in front of Alexander, Kuppies dropped his sword in his lap and then turned to faced the zombie.

Knowing he was over matched, Simon teleported to a teleportation circle in the room and used his rod to escape to safety. With their master gone, the rest of the undead quickly fell to the party, with the highlight being Kuppies thunderwaving a zombie back into the cage it had come out of.

Quickly searching the room, several items of exceptional power were located, including a battering hammer, acidic sword, power jewel, and the ritual to Raise Dead.
