History of Vantus Academy

It should be noted, the Alexander's birth name was Alexander Vantus.

The History presented in the document was given my Headmaster Marovic.

Vantus Academy was founded over 1500 years ago by Albert Vantus. For hundreds of years, it stood as a beacon of learning. Always headed by a descendant of Albert, the school thrived.

When it became evident the mainland would fall to the Darkness, the Headmaster at the time, Alexandra Vantus, had already led the most powerful students and instructors to their deaths. I was left behind to oversee what was left of the school and care for the younger students. With the forces of darkness approaching, an opportunity presented itself to save us and the adjacent town of Whitton.

Knowing Alexandra would do what was needed to preserve the school, I took it.
A Spell Weaver, never a creature to be trusted, approached us with a deal. He had convinced a young silver dragon to help him. Channelling our arcane powers through it, he created a shield that covered the Academy and Town. We built a basic lair for the dragon under Founders Hall.

Taking the guise of Tevors, who had been killed in battle with Alexandra, he channelled the arcane powers generated here, into the dragon, and created a shield, around both the academy and nearby city of Whitton, that only people of non-evil alignments could pass through. What he didn’t tell us was we would be frozen in time as long as the shield persisted.

Unfortunately, over the centuries, the Spell Weaver began to crave the power. As he began to consume it, he craved more. First, 400 years ago, he shrank the shield. With the city of Whitton no longer protected, it was quickly sacked and burned by the creatures that crawled the land.

Recently he began to consume the minds of those here. I believe he intended to leave soon or the dragon has become too large and needs to leave. Either way, we have been engaged in mental combat for several months now. Without your help, I believe he would have consumed me in the next couple weeks and with that, no one could have stopped him.
