Meeting Hasborac

The 3 archers on the far bank were led by Hasborac, the leader of the local resistance. Inviting the party back to his camp, they learned:

• About a month ago, a ship arrived with a complement of Tieflings. On arrival, they went right to the palace where General Karag ran the area from. 2 hours later, the general delivered several edicts and road off to lead the patrols that criss cross the countryside.
• Since then, conditions in the city have gotten worse. There is little law outside of survival of the toughest.
• The slaves on the boat would have been sold and worked to death.
• Looking at Mara and Leenia, he suggests they hide their heritage. Female elves go for very high rates and are often sold into a life of prostitution.
• If the party insisted on going into the city, there was an inn where mercenaries were welcome, The Slave Pen.
• The leader of the Tieflings, a giant among them, has spent a great deal of time since he arrived in the sewers. It cost Hasborac almost a dozen men, but he finally figured out. Under the sewers, there was a series of ancient tunnels. We do not know what was inside the tunnels. He let the party know he does have a means of access to the sewers.

Remembering the original letter from Melech, the party decided to send a group to see if there was a similar letter at the Slave Pen. At the suggestion of Hasborac, only Rudy and Kuppies went in to retrieve the letter.
