Passing through the portal, the party found themselves on a small platform floating over the elemental chaos. A single walkway was connected to the platform. The Gith the party had been following had used their telekinetic leap to reach a set of walkways 20 feet above the platform and were heading away from the walkway that connected to the platform.
The man they had followed was there. His name was Alek, it would later be revealed he was a Warlord.
As they explored the walkways and platforms, it was eerily silent. All they heard was the low rumble of the elemental chaos churning below them. Finally, in the distance, the party saw a room, not a platform, but a room, 4 walls, a floor and ceiling.
Approaching it, there was a platform in front with 2 Githyanki guards on it. As surprise was out of the guestion, the party engaged and quickly advanced. Combat was fairly quick with Alek lending a hand.
The room was actually a cell with several Githzeria help inside. Opening the cell was accomplished by solving a puzzle that proved to be a pretty light challenge.
After freeing the Githzeria, their leader provided some very interesting information:
“This is a place that shouldn’t exist. It is the place between planes. It is infinitely small from the outside, yet infinitely large on the inside. Entrance here from most planes is extremely difficult. Exiting from here is relatively easy and can gain access to almost any other plane.”
“We have been stationed here, protecting this place, for over a century. Time does not pass on any other plane while here. “
He explains how the darkness that has invaded your world is not unique to it. All civilized planes have been fighting the same fight you have, for the past 1000 years. Your restoration of the Citadel of the Seasons, and freeing of Stephen Amber has sent waves of hope across the multiverse. Stephen is known throughout many planes and his freedom has helped to lead them against the darkness.
Finally, the leader assigned someone to escort the party back to the gate and return them to Idera. There was a brief discussion regarding going to the Fey, but in the end, it was more important to return with the information they had gathered. Kuppies was given the ritual even though he is not yet experienced enough to use it.
