Freeing Stephen

Passing through the door, you enter into a luxuriously furnished room. A fire is roaring in the fireplace. Hung above the fireplace is a small tapestry with a picture of the mansion stitched into it. A huge library is located in one corner. A massive pool in another. Seated at a desk by the fire, appearing frozen in time is a man. On the desk is a book and in his hand a quill. The page he was writing only has the following: Burn the tapestry to herald my return and break the curse.

As the party debated if they should explore the room or break the curse first, Mara stepped forward and lit the tapestry. Once it had been reduced to ash, Stephen awoke and greeted the party. He quickly explained how he had been following their exploits and was extremely happy to see them.
