Charter for the creation of the Harpers

This was provided to Alexander by Stephen Amber to aid in his quest in restoring the Harpers.

For many years, my brothers and I have acted within the guidelines I present below. Always acting for and furthering the greater good. As I have aged, it has become apparent to me that there are others who share this belief and I am now writing these guidelines in hopes a more formal organization can be created. I do not desire for it to become a formal military unit, be part of any single kingdom, or be led by a ruler. Merely a small, dedicated group of individuals, acting of their own accord, with minimal guidance from a Triad of the most experienced among them. A Harper should be prepared to act as an advisor, a general, a spy, a soldier, even an assassin.

Requirements:
Anyone may be a member of the Harpers as long as they follow this charter. No class shall be discriminated against and no race should be forbidden. Be default, some classes will be better equipped to join us, and certain racial beliefs will not tolerate our beliefs. For instance, Warlords, certainly have a skill set that compliments our beliefs, while the honour that is inherent in a Dragonborn will make it difficult to make some of the required sacrifices.

Core Beliefs:
1. Always act for the greater good
2. Protect the innocent
3. Punish the guilty
4. Personal Honour must be forfeit
5. Maintain the anonymity of other members of the Organization
6. When possible, be discrete
7. Do not profit from your actions

Entrance into the Harpers is achieved by an invitation from an existing member and a suitable trial or history that demonstrates the ability to act for the greater good and the instinct that self sacrifice is not really a sacrifice.

This document is meant to be a set of guidelines. They are not meant to be carved in stone, nor unchanging.

Just a reminder that although Josh posted them up -- and they are really cool, so everyone deserves to see the work he put into them -- remember that Alexander has not shared this document with anyone yet.
