Changes in Ekeraath

Prior to the encounter with the Colossus, Ekeraath observed several soldiers using a fighting technique he was not familiar with. Native to Averoigne, the BattleRager has a long and storied history throughout that land.

Intrigued by the fighting style, Ekeraath approached the group after the defeat of the Colossus and they happily offered to instruct him in the basics. Being a shield driven style, Ekeraath was reluctantly forced to put his great axe to the side and pick up a long sword for the instruction.

Being an exceptional student of combat techniques, and seeing the value of a style no one on Idera had every seen, Ekeraath decided to continue to pursue this technique despite the fact he has no instructor. He further realized that to truly dedicate himself to it, he must forgo using his great axe and concentrate on the sword and shield.

The soldiers were able to give him several scrolls that detailed the basics movements of the technique and with constant study and practice, Ekeraath will soon master those. When asked if other weapons could be used with the style, the solders informed him that several of the truly great and ancient Averoigne heroes wielded hammers. Unfortunately, that weapon requires great strength to properly utilize and as such, has been replaced by the sword. They all seemed to think that ancient scrolls could probably be found that detail the use of the hammer.
