Finishing the West Wing

After finishing dinner, the party once again crossed the main hallway and found themselves in the kitchen for the Feast. There was little to be found and they moved on.

The next room they entered was a bedroom inhabited by 2 wraiths. In tight quarters, the aura the wraith exuded caused both damage and dazing of the party. If not for Leenia's radiant damage, which nullified the aura for a turn, the combat would have gone from difficult to extremely challenging.

From there, the party moved into another bedroom. Behind the curtains of a large 4 post bed, an Ogre had crammed itself into a nightgown. Further exploration of the room had Rudy find the late Janet Amber stuffed up the chimney. However, the ogre was convinced it was Janet. When the party finally recovered her body, the Ogre went berserk and was quickly dispatched by the party.

Passing through a secret door, the party encountered Richard Amber, a being with the body of a man and the head of a lion. Negotiations with Alexander headed south pretty quickly, but the swift diplomatic intervention by Leenia resulted in a peaceful outcome.

The final room on this wing had a chest on the far side of the room. The green floor was initially thought to be acid, until the party realized it was a large green slime. After torching it, the party approached the chest, not realizing the ceiling was covered in black pudding. After it dropped on Ekeraath, Rudy, and Alexander, the party was able to quickly overcome it.
As Rudy inspected the chest for traps, he touched it...and couldn't remove his hand. At the same time, a pseudopod formed on the far side of the chest and punched Rudy in the face. A mimic. The party recovered quickly, but was extremely surprised when the chest spoke..."Feed Me!" It's demands were moderate, 500 GP. But the party resisted. As they waited, the glue holding Rudy in place became caustic and started to eat away at his hand and the price had risen to 600 GP. With the threat of a lost hand, 600gp was a small price to pay. After freeing Rudy, and retreating to a safe distance, the group pelted the mimic with arrows until it was killed and they were able to retrieve there treasure and some other.
