With that out of the way, the party proceeded up the staircase opposite the one they came down. This led into the other small tower. They came up into a large classroom. 10 lockers lined the back wall and scrolls and vials littered the room. After a thorough search, 2 scrolls of Eye of Alarm and one potion of healing were recovered.
Ascending the stairs, to the second story of the tower, the party found themselves in a large open area with 2 doors, a stairwell that was impassable with rubble, and a bridge to the center spire of the tower.
The first room the group entered was obviously a former classroom, but was now empty with the exception of a large pentagram drawn on the floor. The party did not linger and moved onto the second room. This room was the same as the first, former classroom converted to summoning room, except an Imp was imprisoned in the circle. It was obvious it had been there a long time. During the conversation, he had conversed with Stephen, so it had been there roughly 1000 years.
I was leery of this encounter as I wasn’t sure how to play it, nor how the players would handle it. Having started the night with a couple beers, it was easy for me to play the role of the imp: Slightly insane, desperate to escape, promising anything within my power for release. Kuppies, Alexander, and Ekeraath took the lead with the interrogation. After several minutes, the party had learned very little other than the imp had conversed with Stephen before being left here. He had been summoned to answer some questions and claims to have not had any information for Stephen. Finally, his name was Adam(only because the real Adam was annoying me). Apparently, Stephen as not satisfied with that answer and left the imp there.
Kuppies and Ekeraath returned to the room and Kuppies said “Answer these 2 questions for me and you can go free,” The first, was “What question did Stephen ask you?” The imp replied he wanted information regarding what was invading the land and that he did not have any answers as it had not originated from his home domain. The second question was where are you from? The imp said he had come from the Abyss. At this point, Kuppies tried to continue to barter, asking the imp to teach him the enchant item ritual. The imp asked for quill and paper. At this point, Ekeraath felt that Kuppies was not being honorable as he had said 2 answers and you can go free. So Ekeraath broke the circle and the imp disappeared, returning to whence he came.

A shame we broke the circle. Might've been fun to occassionally return to the crazed imp during our adventures as a source of information. Still, you never know. Perhaps we've earned some goodwill in the Abyss for our actions. It might not be the last we see of that imp in this campaign. Funny that the lawful good dragonborn was the one to set him free.
Nice work, Josh, on playing the imp - the voice choice was a good one!
The dragonborn isn't lawful good. He's just comes down on the lawful side of good more often than not. Especially when the word "honor" can be applied.
Thanks Bob, I'll have to be sure to have a couple beers again before the next time I roleplay. Just kidding. I was curious to see how this would go over and was very pleased with the outcome.
Kudos to you guys for playing it the way you did. There was more info to get, but nothing terribly important, or that you can't get someplace else.
