Where to Next?

Finally, having a minute to catch their breath, the heroes, and Ford, had to make some decisions about where to go next. Roduka could not offer them much help as the Shadar-Kai have very little use for portals.

Ford made the suggestion of Ikemmu, a city deep in the Shadowdark, that is linked to a city also named Ikemmu, in the Underdark. The portal is static, so it is always there. Roduka was very much against the heroes going there. Ikemmu is not a place the Shadar-Kai visit, nor a place they suggest anyone go. Best described by the following quote, "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy". Conveniently, one of their next quests will take them to the Underdark in search of Vecna's eye. The city would take the better part of a week to reach.

Alexander was adamant about finding someway to communicate their victory back to the forces of good. Eventually, they remembered that Kuppies could communicate through his Ring of Wizardry. He managed to reach Snarla who was extremely pleased to hear about their success. Additionally, she offered the thought that the city of Gloomwrought, the largest in the Shadowfell, might provide access to a portal. It was at least 2 weeks travel. I was not prepared for this trip, but I didn't want to totally dismiss it, so I also provided a nugget that Alexander would consider, Snarla believed their was at least one Harper agent there who could potentially assist them.
