Filling the Basin

I made a mistake the session before this one. I let the players see this encounter and they immediately knew what they would have to do to resolve it. I scrambled a little to make it harder, such as requiring 2 rounds to fill the 5 gallon jug. I also gave them a bit of a surprise when they filled the basin with the 4th gallon of water.

But I digress, after experimenting with what brought the statues to life, the party developed a plan to attempt to minimize the number of rounds it would take to obtain 4 gallons of water. Additionally, Kuppies dropped a wall of ice on one side of the room, encasing half of the 10 statues in it. He would be followed by Alexander plastering a wall of fire along the opposite wall as Rudy raced across the room filling the 5 gallon container.

The statues hit hard, but the party was prepared, hammering back, making a path for Rudy. After his first pass from one end to another, Kuppies cast an arcane gate, making it easy for Rudy to traverse the room, fill the container and return.

With 4 gallons now in the basin, they expected the wall of fire to go out and the rod to be theirs, it wouldn't be so easy.
