The Spire of Ariel

Quickly turning their attention to the tower, the hero's question of why no one had entered was answered as soon as they arrived. A puzzle was waiting for them to open the front gate. The jigsaw like puzzle posed a small problem for them.

Advancing through the immaculate grounds, the party arrived at the spire to find 2 massive statues tied together. Several minutes later, the party had them untangled and their massive frames turned to the tower and lifted the heavy door to allow entrance.

Another couple math problems later and the party landed themselves at the top of the spire. Four statues rimmed the outside of the chamber, with swords drawn in their hands. A single statue, in the center of the room, had the bizarre ability to be looking at them, where ever they were in the room. Looking closer, the scabbard on his waist was empty.

Removing the sword from one of the outside statues, it was inserted into the scabbard. Immediately, the sconce behind the statue flared up and stayed much larger than it had been. After the 4th and last sword was sheathed, the 4 sconces launched jets of fire that met in the middle of the room, creating a fire rimmed portal to another room.
