Escape!

Knowing time was fleeting, the party filled the teleportation circle and returned to the mansion. Racing down the stairs, they felt the teleportation circle activate and were almost overwhelmed by the stench of the undead as they arrived in what was left of Simon's lab/library.

With the creatures in pursuit, they sprinted out of the mansion and through the hedge maze, arriving at the hand print, which activated the teleporter. Hoping his hand still had enough necrotic energy within it, Alexander placed it in the indentation and the reassuring flash and churning of their stomachs told the party he had been successful.

Finding themselves in the cave, Ekeraath smashed the control mechanism with his hammer, hoping to delay the pursuers. In the meantime, Rudy had run outside and noticed several large boulders conveniently located above the mouth of the cave. Attempting to run around the entrance, and up he hill. Rudy, Kuppies, Leenia, and Mara succeeded and attempted, without success, to push the boulders in front of the entrance.

There was a flash of light that came from the cave, telling the party their pursuers had arrived. Fortunately, Alexander made it to the top of the hill just in time to offer his back as they tried again to push the builders from their resting places.

The boulders tumbled down, sealing the door to the cave. Feeling confident they locked the undead away for quite some time, the heroes turned their attention to stopping a war.
