The East Wing

Returning to the last part of the Indoor Forest, the party was able to avoid the sleeping flowers with the vampire roses growing nearby. The entrance to the East Wing was an archway that dripped blood. After attempting to get through without getting blood on them, everyone failed and found no negative to it.

Passing through the arch, the party found themselves in the throne room. While here, the soul of Princess Catherine, which had been transferred to the throne just before Stephen's curse, attempted to possess many of the party members. Sadly, the mighty Ekeraath failed his save(what else is new) and became possessed by Catherine. Kudos to Adam for a job well done role playing the part of insane Catherine. Sadly, the party did not take this very seriously and went with the flow hoping to find a solution. In the meantime, Rudy found a hidden compartment in the throne and made sure Catherine's crown jewels had a new home...and didn't share that information with anyone.

Fortunately for Ekeraath, the party next entered the main library of the house where they found Claude Amber. Immediately recognizing what had transpired with Ekeraath's possession, he intervened and cast the soul of Catherine from his body. Claude allowed the party to search his library, for 500gp, and they discovered a scroll entitled "To those who would be free". The contents of this scroll are in the next post.

Following their encounter with Claude, the party finished exploring the East wing. I will admit, I railroaded a bit to get them through quick since it was late and there was little required to complete this section. During that exploration, they found several rooms that were totally one color, such as the blue room, the white room, and the green room. The green room had a large man that insisted to pass someone would have to cut off his head. The party was able to avoid the green man. They found Little Ape, Stephen's Jester, entered a room where Madam Camilla Amber read tarot cards. Each of the party chose one, usually with negative effects.

Finally, before heading down a trapdoor the party had found, they entered a room Claude had pointed them to. There, a member of the Brotherhood of the Sun was found. The details of this conversation will come in another post as it is still transpiring via email.
