The first adventure...picking up the pieces

So after the betrayal, the party spent some time trying to figure out what to do. They did quickly retrieve their weapons and finish exploring the complex. The only room left was down a hall, at the bottom of a long staircase, a dock with 2 ships left.

If the party had made it to the docks before the gem room, they would have found 3 ships in a sealed up cavern. The cavern reveals itself to the outside once the gem is removed. Obviously, by time the party got to the docks, Damakos had taken one of the ships.

After a fair amount of discussion, the party decided to sail the ship back to the council to brief them on what had transpired.

Their arrival was quite exciting as a ship that large had not been seen in almost 1000 years. The council quickly ushered the party into the council chambers to debrief them. The council was extremely disappointed to hear about Damakos' treachery and that the Cult of the Infernal Fang had not been erraticated the last time they had caused a threat(500 years ago). In that time, they had sought to leave the island and the council had to go to extreme lengths to prevent that.

As a reward, the party was ushered into a small store room where they were given access to the only enchanted weaponry the council has. Ekerrath was delighted in that a new great axe would release him from his oath to not harm Damakos with his axe.

The party leveled up, the ship was stocked, and they were given 3 assignments.
1. Retrieve the Gem from Damakos
2. Eliminate the remaining Cult of the Infernal Fang
3. Determine what has transpired in the world in the past 1000 years.

At this point, I should point out that the ship is magical and can be controlled using a gem that is in place of the wheel. All PCs are able to use it.

It strikes me that we never interrogated the captive wyrmpriest. We never found out about why the kobolds crashed on the island and what's going on in the outside world. we should have pumped him for information before taking off into the great unknown. And found out if they brought the dragon, or if it were already there.
